The Raspberry Pi 5 is a single-board computer based on the Broadcom BCM2712 SoC, featuring a quad-core 64-bit ARM Cortex-A76 processor running at 2.4GHz. It provides a noticeable increase in processing capability compared to earlier Raspberry Pi models, with roughly 2–3× higher CPU performance.

The board uses a newer architecture with improved instruction throughput and efficiency, along with higher clock speeds. It also includes a VideoCore VII GPU, which supports modern graphics APIs and enables dual 4K display output at 60Hz.

Memory options range from 1GB to 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM, offering higher bandwidth for multitasking and data-heavy workloads. The system also introduces a redesigned I/O subsystem through a dedicated controller, improving performance across USB, microSD, and PCIe interfaces.
